This Week at TRC: Condolences, Sharing Our Faith, and More

Hello TRC Family

Psalm 116:15  “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.”

Condolences…

With our sympathies, we wish to let you know, that Rhonda Simon, Larry and Marie’s daughter, passed away on Sunday night.  You will know Rhonda for her enthusiastic worship of God and cheering on the worship team and speakers from the back of the church while sitting in her wheelchair beside her parents. 🙂  Rhonda has been part of the TRC family for many years.

Larry and Marie are grateful for everyone’s prayers for Rhonda over the years and for them during this time of grieving.  A service in celebration of Rhonda’s life will be held at a future date due to restrictions on gatherings at this time.

Larry and Marie also wish to convey thanks for the flowers. However, in lieu of flowers they ask that people would make a donation to the CDBA, Saskatchewan Chapter of the Canadian Deaf Blind Association.

Further Church Information…

1.  How are you?

Psalm 46

1 God is our refuge and strength,
always ready to help in times of trouble.
2 So we will not fear when earthquakes come
and the mountains crumble into the sea.
3 Let the oceans roar and foam.
Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!

We encourage you during this season of life to be taking steps to God, our refuge and strength.  Time with Him can touch and change our hearts.  Scripture from Him can renew our mind and perspective.  Listening to Him can calm our mind and soul.  May Jesus meet you as you seek Him.

We are praying for you this week.  If you would like to talk via phone or facetime before someone checks in with you, please just contact us.  We are available.  reply to this email or call the church at 306-975-7197

2. This Sunday…”Sharing my Faith”

1 Peter 3:15-17  “Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. 16 But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ. 17 Remember, it is better to suffer for doing good, if that is what God wants, than to suffer for doing wrong!”

Often the idea of “Sharing our faith” can bring fear, panic and guilt.  “I can’t, I wouldn’t know what to say”, “I’m afraid” are some of the phrases I’ve both used myself and heard others say.  You will be interested to hear in this week’s message that it is not from fear, pressure or shame that we are invited to share our story… Link in on Sunday and be encouraged! (therockchurchsaskatoon.online.church)

We are in Chapter 20 of Believe this week.  Please take time to read the chapter in lead up to Sunday!
