What is The Rock Church?
The Rock Church (TRC) is a community of people…real, flawed and imperfect people…loved by a God who gives grace. We are children, youth and adults, singles and families, your neighbours, friends and co-workers…just normal people who are learning to walk with Jesus, convinced He is Saviour and Lord. We are believers and those who are becoming believers, trying our best to serve God and people.
Where is The Rock Church?
At 228 Avenue G South, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, we are located in the heart of the city.
What does The Rock Church do?
The Rock Church reaches out to children, youth and adults from the inner city and beyond. People from The Rock and other churches, as well as other caring individuals, volunteer their time, skills and financial resources to assist with outreach ministries.
Where do I Park?
At The Rock Church we don’t have a parking lot of our own. We are grateful for our neighbours at White Buffalo Youth Lodge and City Centre Church who share their space. You can park in White Buffalo Parking Lot and in the immediate east portion of City Centre Church parking lot, directly across the street. We ask that you respect our neighbours and not park in front of neighbouring houses. Watch for signs that will direct you where to park and please see a greeter if you have any questions.
I’m disabled. How do I get in?
The Rock Church has a personnel lift that makes the basement and main floor of the building accessible. Park in our small lot on the north side of the building and enter through the ground level entrance to the lift. Then take it up to the main floor. If you need assistance check with one of the ushers or parking attendants near the front door. They will be happy to assist you.
What Should I Expect when I Visit?
You should expect a welcoming atmosphere! You are our guests. Upon entering building you will be in our foyer. Watch for our greeters. They are really helpful and friendly. Beyond the foyer is our sanctuary (where we meet for services and other meetings). We typically have coffee and a snack waiting for you there, until the service starts. Our services are approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, sometimes a few minutes longer, sometimes a bit shorter. On Saturday evenings services begin at 6:30 pm; on Sunday mornings, 11 am. Our services are fairly casual. Typically someone greets the congregation, and then we have music and singing. Then one of our pastors, or a guest speaker, shares a message of hope based on God’s word–the Bible. After the service people visit for a while before leaving. Sometimes we have a potluck lunch, or a Life Group that meets over a bowl of soup. You are always welcome, and guests are not expected to contribute.
What is Offered for Children?
We have a small parenting room that you can use with your young child if you would like. You will be able to hear the service while there. After the music portion of the service children ages 4 to 11 are invited to go to children’s church where they can participate in age-appropriate activities while being cared for by well-trained and reliable caregivers.
What do I Wear?
Most people just dress in their every day clothes… you might see people in ripped jeans or occasionally you might see a tie but just come as you are and you will be great!
Will I Find a Seat Easily?
When you walk in the sanctuary, you can choose any seat you wish. If you would like help just ask an usher.
